Grassroots Effort For Criminal Justice Reform

We first reported on June 16 on a new nonprofit group, the Project for Opportunity and Safety, formed to support the passage of “commonsense, conservative reforms” through the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act.

The effort has picked up the support of a group of prominent New Hampshire Republicans, including state Sens. Andy Sanborn and Kevin Avard, House Majority Leader Richard Hinch, state Rep. Fred Doucette, former police chiefs Eddie Edwards and Charlie Reynolds, former NHGOP vice chairmen Cliff Hurst and J.P. Marzullo, Manchester nurse Yolanda Shimer, GOP activist Tyler Michael, Hollis Pharmacy owner Vahrij Manoukian and Windham Selectman Bruce Breton.
